Take this dusty old mirror for example.
I picked it up at the Goodwill for $4.99. I started out by using blue painter's tape to completely cover the mirror.
Then I hit it with my spray paint and -- voila! -- it looks totally new and totally transformed!
The color is Malachite Light by Montana Gold. Once it was dried I used a clear enamel spray paint to give it a glossy effect. And for the sake of full disclosure, I will admit that I painted this mirror two different colors before finally settling on this one. The first color was a bright pink. Really bright. Too bright. The second was a dark -- and yet somehow also bright -- turquoise. It was way too bold for our daughter's new room. This final coat was the perfect color. I knew it was exactly what I was looking for the second I saw it across a crowded craft store. And, note to self (and anyone else who is listening), craft stores often carry much more sophisticated spray paint colors than your local big box home improvement store. Lesson learned.
What items have you transformed through spray paint? Do you have a favorite spray paint brand? Any spray painting tips or tricks?
